Our Vision
It is the vision of First Baptist Church to develop disciples to be the bridge for impacting the lostness in our community, based on Mark 12:30-31, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. The second is, Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other command greater than these.” We fulfill this by pursuing our mission.
Our Mission
We make it our mission to Connect with God, Grow in Christ, and Serve Others, based on the Great Commission found in Matthew 28:19-20. “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
This means we are constantly striving to lead others to salvation through Jesus Christ (Connect), strive to grow closer to God in our own lives and help others do the same (Grow), and then serve our community.
Core Beliefs
We affirm the Holy Bible as the inspired Word of God and the basis for our beliefs. God's Word as revealed in the Holy Bible is our sole authority in matters of faith and practice. We do agree with and accept the doctrinal statement of The Baptist Faith and Message as adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention.
Salvation
Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. In its broadest sense salvation includes regeneration, justification, sanctification, and glorification. There is no salvation apart from personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord.

The Holy Bible
The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God’s revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. Therefore, all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy. It reveals the principles by which God judges us, and therefore is, and will remain to the end of the world, the true center of Christian union, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be tried. All Scripture is a testimony to Christ, who is Himself the focus of divine revelation.

Man
Man is the special creation of God, made in His own image. He created them male and female as the crowning work of His creation. By his free choice man sinned against God and brought sin into the human race. Only the grace of God can bring man into His holy fellowship and help man to fulfill the creative purpose of God. The human personality is evident in that God created man in His own image, and in that Christ died for man; therefore, every person of every race possesses full dignity and is worthy of respect and Christian love.

The Family
Marriage is the uniting of one biological man and one biological woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime. The husband and wife are of equal worth before God, since both are created in God’s image. A husband is to love his wife as Christ loved the church. A wife is to submit herself graciously to the servant leadership of her husband even as the church willingly submits to the headship of Christ.
Children, from the moment of conception, are a blessing and heritage from the Lord. Children are to honor and obey their parents.
